According to a report by the Brazilian website UOL, former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva will admit to using performance-enhancing drugs.
Silva failed multiple tests given to him by the Nevada Athletic Commission, testing positive for banned steroids Drostanolone and Androstane on January 9, Drostanolone again on January 31 and an anti-anxiety medication.
“The Spider” and his defense team are preparing to come out with the response, saying Silva needed help in recovering from his broken leg suffered in 2013 vs. Chris Weidman. His lawyers will argue that the about of the substances found in testing were minimal.
The NAC gave Silva a temporary suspension at a recent meeting, setting a date for another hearing to decide upon any future suspension and/or fine.
