Amazing Inverted Omoplata Submission in MMA

Yes ladies and gentlemen I have found the Unicorn. Well not really, but what we have hear is a submission that I personally have never seen in MMA competition. We’ve all seen the crazy Toby Imada Inverted Triangle(if you haven’t, I’m disappointed in you), but what we have here is an inverted omoplata. Now it’s extremely rare just to see a normal omoplata finish someone in these days of more advanced MMA competition, plus many fighters just think you suck if you tap to an omoplata. This bout is between Seiji Sugiman-Marangos and James Haourt back in November of 2009 at Fighting Spirit MMA. Watch Marangos with the setup and transition to the submission from 4:10 to 4:30.

Apparently this is not the first time Marangos has done this, in the video below he pulls it off at the Ontario Grand Prix Jiu-Jitsu finals in 2007. (5:15 to 5:45)
