Aljamain Sterling took the long trip to Australia for a planned fight next Friday night at UFC Fight Night 55, only to find out he doesn’t have an opponent.
Sterling was once set to meet Frankie Saenz, but he was injured and replaced by Michael Imperato. However, UFC officials released Imperato shortly after signing him due to comments made on a reality TV show.
So now, Sterling sits, hours and hours away from home and hoping to find an opponent. He has taken to Twitter to search, and might have found someone willing and able.

Sterling (10-0) has won both of his Octagon appearances. Cherico (7-0) last fought in July for Pinnacle FC out of Pitsburgh. He has scored four submission and one knockout to his credit.
The fighter updated the situation on Twitter and will know by this weekend if his trip will end with a fight or not.
Unfortunately the MMA gods have spoke and given one last hope for me to fight in Sydney for the Ozzie fans. I'll know by Sat afternoon.
