Alex Caceres is manning up for his marijuana suspension earlier in the year. It cost him a win and a six month suspension. It also came with a valuable lesson as Caceres is done using marijuana.
“I quit the minute I heard about it and got back into the gym,” said Caceres to MMA Fighting. “Marijuana doesn’t affect you positively at all in training for a fight. It’s one of the things you don’t want to do. Being sober made me more hyper and it’s a good thing.”
In his return at UFC 165, Caceres was confident he took the second and third round. The judges agreed and he was awarded a split-decision over Roland Delorme.
Delorme was coming off a decision win earlier in the year. He’s 3-1 for the UFC.
UFC 165 was Saturday, September 21, from the Air Canada Centre. The main event saw Jon Jones take a Fight of the Night decision against Alexander Gustafsson.
