Chris Weidman will attempt to make it 2-for-2 this December when he faces Anderson Silva for the UFC middleweight title at UFC 168.
Weidman trains at Serra-Longo in New York alongside former Ultimate Fighter runner-up Al Iaquinta.
Iaquinta, who has won two straight himself inside the Octagon, recently talked with FightLine about the upcoming rematch.
“I really think after this fight with Anderson, there will be no doubt in anyone’s mind that he is the better fighter,” Iaquinta said.
Iaquinta, who himself is hoping return to action as soon as possible after scoring a win in October over Piotr Hallmann, said “I’ll be right back in the gym and will be there if there is anything he needs.
“Weidman helped me a lot leading up to this fight (vs. Hallmann). I owe him a lot; he really helped me put it all together with the wrestling.”
