Larsen has yet to taste victory two fights into his UFC career. Add a third to the list, as is certainly possible against debuting finisher Andre Fili, and there’s little hope for Larsen when it comes to continued employment. He also happened to be stopped with strikes in both losses, while six of Fili’s twelve wins have come via TKO, adding to the odds against Larsen’s success on Saturday night.
The lineup for UFC 166 is as epic as they’ve come in 2013 with some preliminary pairings worthy of a main card spot on a smaller show. However, as “feel good” as the event is going into things, there’s a dark side to the festivities in that they will likely mark the last time more than one of the involved competitors takes to the Octagon for the immediate future if ever again. Specifically, there are six fighters set for action in Houston who absolutely have to win in order to save their spots on the roster and, unfortunately for a few, they happen to be in bouts against one another.
